Experience & Compassion
I am a highly experienced psychotherapist working with adult clients in Albuquerque and online throughout New Mexico. I specialize in taking therapy into natures’ healing spaces or alternatively bringing healing to you through online therapy.
I began my career in mental health 20 years ago as a social worker in Chicago and I've traveled the awe inspiring terrain of community mental health and private practice ever since. At my practice, I integrate a wide range of somatic, cognitive, transpersonal, mindfulness, and social justice informed therapies into my work. My practice includes specialization in insomnia disorder, neurodivergent identity celebration, accessible yoga therapy, chronic illness, and body focused work. I believe that simply giving the time, space, and energy to our health, through therapy, illuminates our own potentialities, leaving us with skills and peace to last a lifetime.
Specialties:
Counseling for Insomnia Disorder
I am certified in CBT-I a treatment modality with better outcomes than sleep medication for Insomnia Disorder. CBT-I is the counseling treatment preferred by sleep doctors.
Counseling for Medical Illness
I provide counseling and guidance from a place of lived experience to those dealing with medical grief, chronic pain, caregiver burnout, new/chronic medical diagnosis (including Long Covid,) as well as other abrupt, challenging, or unwanted life changes.
Neurodivergent Identity Work
I am skilled and experienced at working with neurodivergent clients as we make strides in identity affirmation, understanding the grief of unaccommodated processing differences, and tools to thrive as neurodivergent people today.
Body Focused Repetitive Behaviors
I love working with BFRBs! I practice the Comprehensive Behavioral Model (COMB) and Habit Reversal Training (HRT) for BFRBS including hair pulling and skin picking.
